On behalf of
Our Virginia Outdoors Coalition, I want
to personally invite you to join us in Richmond for
Outdoor Recreation Day at the Virginia Capitol on
Wednesday, January 28.
This is a chance for
outdoor business leaders, advocates, and partners from across the
Commonwealth to come together, celebrate what makes Virginia’s outdoors
special, and make our voices heard in support of
Virginia’s Great Outdoors Act.
Here’s what the day will look like:
-
When: Wednesday, January 28, 2026
9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., with optional legislator
meetings throughout the day
-
Where: Darden Memorial Garden at Capitol Square
-
What: A relaxed but meaningful morning that includes
a “Hike the Square” rally, hot chocolate and coffee, time to connect
with colleagues from across the outdoor economy, and opportunities to
meet directly with legislators
-
Who: Our Virginia Outdoors Coalition members and
friends, outdoor recreation business leaders, and state legislators
Why this matters: Virginia’s Great
Outdoors Act represents a real opportunity to strengthen outdoor
recreation, conservation, and the outdoor economy across the state.
Showing up, especially as business owners and employers, helps
legislators understand just how important this work is to our
communities and livelihoods.
To help offset the time
commitment,
a $100 honorarium is available for
participating business owners.
Whether you can stay for
the full day or just join us for the morning rally and conversations,
your presence makes a difference. If you’re interested in attending or
would like help setting up a legislator meeting, please reply to this
email and we’ll follow up with next steps.
Hope to see you at
the Capitol!
Best,
Michael D. Clark
